The Logical Coherence of the Hypostatic Union of the Person of Jesus Christ

The Logical Coherence of the Hypostatic Union of the Person of Jesus Christ The hypostatic union refers to the union of two natures (divine and human) in one person, Jesus Christ. Some people argue that this concept is contradictory because it seems to imply that Jesus is both fully divine and fully human, which might appear to be mutually exclusive properties. However, the law of contradiction states that something cannot both be and not be at the same time and in the same respect. To address the potential contradiction in the hypostatic union, we can consider the following: Different respects The hypostatic union posits that Jesus has two natures (divine and human) that coexist in one person. The apparent contradiction arises when we consider Jesus' properties as either divine or human. However, the key is understanding that these properties apply to different natures, not the person as a whole in the same respect. Divine nature As God, Jesus possesses divine attributes such as...

The Problems with Zodiac Signs and Astrology

The Problems with Zodiac Signs and Astrology Astrology remains a popular topic in modern society, with many people turning to it for entertainment, guidance, or a sense of community. While it can be a shared interest that brings people together, maintaining a balanced perspective and not relying on astrology for life decisions is essential. The reasons to avoid following signs of the Zodiac, horoscope, or astrology is because it is not scientific or biblical. From a scientific standpoint, astrology is not considered a valid method for predicting personality traits, future events, or guiding life decisions. The positions of stars and planets are not supported by empirical evidence as having a direct influence on human affairs. Astronomy, the study of celestial objects and phenomena, is a science, whereas astrology, which seeks to predict human affairs based on celestial positions, is not empirically validated. The Bible warns against practices that involve seeking guidance or prediction...

Exposing the Logical Fallacy of Islamic Objection to the Deity of Jesus Christ

Exposing the Logical Fallacy of Islamic Objection to the Deity of Jesus Christ One of the most common Muslims' objection to the Christianity is asking Christians to show them where Jesus Christ said "I am God worship me". This is a bad Islamic logic/argument promoted by Zakir Naik and Ahmed Deedat. It's like saying that a thief will have to say unequivocally that he is a thief even though there are sufficient evidences before incriminating him. Jesus' resurrection, miracles, fulfilment of prophecies, teachings, claims to deity and his acceptance of Lordship and worship are enough proofs of his deity. The argument of Muslims that Jesus Christ is not divine/God since there's no where Jesus Christ said unequivocally that "I am God, worship me" is like exonerating a thief because he didn't say that he is a thief. The argument falls short of logical reasoning and commits some logical fallacies as exposed below: Fallacy of appeal to ignorance This is a...
